What is therapy like?
You may have had therapy before, know someone who has or watched a film where someone talks about what it’s like. For some it’s a rollercoaster experience. For others it’s a gradual buildup. Everyone has a different comfort zone and feels differently about moving beyond it. I go at your pace. During the therapeutic process upsetting or challenging memories can come to the surface. Some sessions are more emotionally charged than others. Like with anything in life, the more you invest in the process the more you get out of it. We only ever discuss things when you feel safe, protected, secure and ready.
Is now the right time for therapy?
The right time is when you decide you want to start. You may feel nervous or apprehensive. You may have doubts. That’s understandable and totally alright. Ultimately, it comes down to you feeling the time is now. How much time and effort you invest in the exercises in between sessions will determine how quickly you will progress.
What do I need to commit to at the beginning?
At the beginning of the first session you may not know if therapy is what you want or if it is the right time. Everyone is different and at a different point in their lives. Deciding if and when you want to proceed is your decision and you contact me as and when you want to continue. This is the same after every session.
Where are you located?
My therapy room is located in Culloden, in Inverness. It is a private space over looking a garden providing you with a quiet, peaceful and tranquil environment. There is free parking outside and a bus stop at the end of the road.
How many sessions will I need?
Everyone is different. Everyone has different problems, some mild and some more severe. It depends on what you want to achieve during therapy. I work to your needs so if time or money is a restriction, we talk about what you can get out of the sessions you can have. If there aren’t restrictions then, depending on what you hope to achieve during therapy, it can be working on one problem or issue, or delving deeper and resolving deep rooted issues. It is your therapeutic process, I work to your needs.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are 60 minutes.
How much are sessions and when do I pay?
Sessions are £80 for individuals and £95 for couples. The first session is paid for in advance by bank transfer. Future sessions are paid for on the day by cash, card or bank transfer. Sessions cancelled more than 24 hours in advance aren’t charged.
