About Me

Hello! My name is Julia Donald and I am a CBT Psychotherapist (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) living in Inverness. I was awarded “Trauma Psychotherapy Business of the Year 2024” in the GHP Mental Health Awards, “Best Trauma-Based Psychotherapy Business 2023 Scotland” in the GHP Mental Health Awards, “CBT Therapist of the Year (Highlands)” in the 2023 Scottish Enterprise Awards, “CBT Psychotherapist of the Year (Highlands)” in the 2022 Scottish Enterprise Awards and “Most Empowering CBT Therapist (Highlands)” in the 2021 Scottish Enterprise Awards. I am a Level 1 and Level 2 Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, Certified Infertility Specialist and a Certified Rainbow Baby Specialist.

I am a guest lecturer on dental anxiety and trauma for the Department of Oral Sciences at the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI) and was a guest speaker at the UHI Student Conference in Inverness in February 2024.

I have also guest lecturered at the University of the West of Scotland (UWS) to the Postgraduate CBT students on health anxiety and dissociation.

Alongside my private practice work I also work as an affiliate CBT Psychotherapist for Crisis Counselling, Poppy Scotland, Nuffield Health, Think CBT, One Bright, and CBT Clinics.

I have significant experience working with generalised anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, stress, low self esteem, phobias, depression, childhood abuse, adult sexual assault, car accidents, trauma, PTSD, dissociation, borderline personality disorder, infertility, baby loss, relationship issues and couples therapy.

I am accredited with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). I have also completed specialised Psychotherapy training accredited by ACTO and the BACP in working with clients online and over the phone.
